This past weekend, Mental Health Matters of Middle Georgia proudly hosted a Mental Health First Aid training—and we are thrilled to share that it was a tremendous success.
The training brought together individuals committed to learning how to better support mental health and well-being in our community. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions, practical learning, and skill-building designed to help recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges.

Industry Recognized Certification 🎓
All participants have now successfully completed their Mental Health First Aid certification, which is valid for three (3) years.
With Gratitude to Our Community Partners
This training was made possible through the collaboration of community partners and volunteers. Georgia Behavioral Health supported the event by providing the training space, supplies, and technical assistance. Grant funding from the Houston County
Commission helped reduce costs and allowed the training to be offered at a significantly reduced rate for participants.
Additional coordination and on-site support were provided by Mental Health Matters of Middle Georgia board members and volunteers, whose planning and involvement helped ensure a smooth and successful training experience.
